Strengthening the Quality of Local Governance through Professional Management

The purpose of MME is to foster and encourage the personal and professional development of its members in order that they may better serve their communities and to promote, encourage, and preserve high ethical standards for municipal administrators.

MME Membership Period

Jan. 1 - Dec. 31
Renewals received between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 will renew for the following year.

 

New and renewing members may complete the membership application and return with dues payment via check. Complimentary forms may be returned to registration@mme.org.

 

Renewing Affiliate, Consultant and Professional Members with a League website account may renew online and pay via credit card. Credit card payments are accepted for renewals only.

Professional Development

Professional Conferences provides sessions featuring current best practices and innovations in local government management. Conferences serve as training sessions to develop managerial skills and offer ICMA Credentialed Manager Credit.

Connect with Fellow Members

MME E-Newsletter is a bimonthly electronic publication with information on topics related to the profession and upcoming events.

MME Listserv is a confidential forum for MME Members only, to exchange ideas and share information.

Regional Groups hold meetings/luncheons to provide important face-to-face networking opportunities and information on pertinent topics.

Early Career Outreach

The Early Career Outreach Committee provides Bi-Annual Professional Development, geared towards early to mid-career professionals, but members at all levels are welcome.

Internship program - Annually, up to two paid fellows from partnering universities are placed in a host community for hands-on professional development and local government experience.

Professional Standards and Support

Senior Advisors – Provide support to help address the personal and professional needs of individual members including career assistance and support during the entire spectrum of a member’s career.

Mentoring and Coaching – MME is committed to bringing together Michigan municipal managers at all levels to strengthen the profession through peer-to-peer interaction.

Secretarial Support – Provides support to the President and the Board; oversees the budget; provides information to members; and assists in the coordination of MME events.
