Christine Burns has more than 26 years of experience as a municipal official. She has been the village manager of Spring Lake since 2012, after serving the City of Cedar Springs for more than five years and the Village of Oxford for two years. She also served the City of Clare for more than 14 years.

Burns is a member of the Michigan Municipal Executives (MME), currently serving as vice-chair of the Ethics Committee. She also belongs to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has served as president for the West MI Local Government Management Association and on the Board of Directors for MME.  Burns is currently serving on the Michigan Municipal League Board of Trustees.

Burns graduated from Central Michigan University in 1990 with a BSBA majoring in Management, and earned her MSA in Public Administration from CMU in 2006. Fire Up Chips! She and her husband, Bill, have two children: Brad and Bre.
