MME President Thanks Members for Volunteering to Serve
The following is a message from MME President Rebecca Fleury, Battle Creek city manager, about some new task force groups being started by the organization:
Thank you to all members that signed up and agreed to serve on one of the three task forces. We had a great response and I was able to assign everyone that signed up, with the exception of the Regional Groups Task Force. We had 25 responses and I paired that down to 13 based on regions and size recommendations by the Nonprofit Spot (our consultants). If you signed up for the Regional Groups Task Force and weren’t assigned and would consider joining the Staffing Support Task Force, please let me know ASAP. There is some room there for additional members. A board liaison is assigned to each task force, as they are for each of our regular standing committees.
The chairs will be meeting with the MME Board Executive Committee and the Nonprofit Spot this week to review the task force guidelines from the Strategic Plan. The chairs will select vice chairs and reach out to their task force members sometime after that meeting. A big thank you to Al, Bridgette and Keith for agreeing to serve as task force chairs.
We hope to have recommendations or detailed updates of the work of each task force by the summer workshop. This is an aggressive timeline but I understand everyone’s time is valuable and in limited quantities. Thank you for helping us advance the work and efficiency of MME.
