April Lynch started in local government as a high school co-op student for Ottawa County. In her college years, she was a park attendant. Never once during that time did she think about a permanent career in local government!

Fast forward a few years, April brings 22 years of experience in various roles and a non-traditional path to her current position as Ferndale city manager. Previously, April worked for the City of Grand Haven for nine years, ending her time there as human resources director/assistant to the city manager; two years with the City of Monroe as human resources director; almost five years with the City of Ypsilanti as assistant city manager/HR director; and finally landing as the city manager for the City of Ferndale almost 7 years ago.

April is passionate about building communities, focused on supporting elected officials in their goals, and driven to provide leadership in the organizations that bring services to the residents we serve.
