MME Board Unanimously Endorses Cardenas for ICMA Vice President

By Patrick Sullivan

The MME Board of Directors has unanimously endorsed Victor Cardenas, assistant city manager of Novi, for the Non-CEO, Midwestern Vice-Presidential seat on the ICMA Executive Board.  An endorsement letter sent from MME President Pat Sullivan to ICMA cited Victor’s commitment to developing the next generation of managers and his extensive service to both MME and ICMA.

Cardenas has worked on MME’s graduate fellowship program and conference planning committee, which he chaired in 2015 when Novi hosted our Winter Institute. He has worked extensively on ICMA initiatives and is the chair of the 2019 Nashville Conference Planning Committee.  He has also participated in several ICMA research, performance measurement, and advocacy projects, and served on their International Committee.

A diverse field of six applicants from several states have placed their names in consideration for this seat. The Midwest Regional Nominating Committee will consider the nominations at the ICMA Regional Conference, which will be held May 7-10 in Evanston, Illinois.
