MME Summer Institute Set for Frankenmuth

By Warren Rothe

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) continues to plan the 2023 Summer Workshop which will be held in Frankenmuth July 24-27. At the time this article “goes to press” the PDC will have received and reviewed our call for sessions. Programming is going well and there will be several updates throughout May and June as the agenda and sessions are finalized.

Frankenmuth had previously been booked to host the 2020 Summer Workshop, but unfortunately the pandemic caused this to be postponed. In order to be accommodated in the venue, the days of the conference needed to be shifted to Monday-Thursday. Nevertheless, we look forward to an exciting time of professional development and networking and expect a strong turnout.

Besides Summer Workshop, I am pleased to share that a subcommittee has been formed to examine our sponsorship processes. Securing sponsorships is a significant part of the PDC’s responsibilities and they are a significant source of conference revenue. I am eager to review the recommendations this subcommittee will prepare.

Additionally, we will endeavor to solicit and recommend to the MME Board locations for Summer Workshops and Winter Institutes for the next three calendar years. Stay tuned for more information on this front. If anyone would like to serve as a host community, please contact the PDC to discuss.
