New Employee Assistance Program for Professional Members

By Adam Smith

I am happy to share with you that our MME Board of Directors recently authorized the establishment of a member assistance program with LifeWorks for our professional members. I anticipate many of you are familiar with EAPs in your respective communities. The EAP is a confidential service provided by LifeWorks for MME professional members that offers help with personal and work-related issues. Professionally trained advisors are available to help with family problems, marital concerns, financial and legal matters, stress, depression, and other issues affecting your work or personal life.

The LifeWorks well-being resource, which became available October 1, 2020, is free and confidential. Advisors are available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at 1-800-433-7916 English/Spanish; TTY 1-800-772-0997; or https://login.lifeworks.com. Professional members will need to provide your name, MME membership email, and create a password at login. This information can also be found at www.mme.org/member-support-services.  Professional members should have received an e-mail invitation from LifeWorks.

Given confidentiality as the primary priority, the wellness directory feature was turned off. All of the wellness resources and features will continue to be available for professional members. Although there are LifeWorks product limitations, we wanted to ensure our municipal executives have a basic resource available to them.
